Junior Cricket Development Fund
Help supporting the next generation of ECC’s cricketers!
The Club is committed to the development of all players, and is delighted to announce that ambitious new plans are underway to improve the coaching and training facilities and equipment over the coming years. This is part of a bigger, Club-wide project to upgrade facilities – ultimately including plans for a new Club House – to ensure that we can offer members the best environment in which to play, watch and enjoy cricket.
To make these plans a reality, ECC is setting up a new Coaching and Development Fund. This will help to cover the costs to fund a range of initiatives including; refurbishment of training facilities (nets), purchase of training equipment and for additional specialist coaching support at the club. The most immediate and pressing need is the refurbishment of the far cricket nets. The existing nets need refurbishment as they are currently unusable.
Not only are the nets frequently used in the Club’s Junior training programme, but they are open for our Junior cricketers to help improve & practice technique, and are vital to help support and nurture young talent. As we all know, families and their children spend many enjoyable hours in the nets during the Season, in the evenings and over the weekend – & long may this continue!
So, while our membership fees will again not rise for the 2017 season, we’re asking rejoining members to consider a voluntary donation to the new fund. If you are financially able to, we would very much appreciate your contribution, at whatever level you are comfortable with. Voluntary contribution suggestions: £15, £25, £50, £100 or £250 and you can drop these into the club on training evenings.
We will also be organising a number of fundraising activities over the Season – so watch this space!
